What you can do here

  • Search inside the articles. Search covers titles, authors, summaries and the full text of every article, in English and Hindi, and shows the passage that matched.
  • Read a summary first. Every article has a summary and conclusion, with the original PDF one click away.
  • Follow the people and journals you care about. Author pages collect everything a scholar wrote across the archive; your picks on the home page follow your interests.
  • Browse by era. The timeline shows what was published each year, journal by journal.
  • Keep it with you. Install the app on your phone; articles you open stay readable offline.

The journals

The archive currently holds articles from these journals:

Articles remain the work of their authors and publishers. The archive links each article to its source PDF and credits the journal, issue and pages.

How summaries are made

Summaries and conclusions are written with the help of AI language models from each article's text, then checked. Every article page says how far its summary has been checked:

  • Reviewed by a volunteer editor: a person has read and corrected it.
  • Automatically checked: an automated review compared the summary against the article text.
  • Not yet checked: an AI-assisted summary awaiting review.

When a check finds that a summary may not match its article, the summary is withheld until it is rewritten. Many older articles were digitised from print by OCR, so their text can contain errors; always consult the original PDF before quoting or citing a detail. If you spot a mistake, use Report an issue on the article page.

Citing articles

Use the Cite button on any article for a ready-made MLA, APA, Chicago or BibTeX citation. Cite the original journal article (journal, volume, issue, year and pages); the archive link is included so readers can find the PDF.

Languages

Articles are in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Prakrit and other languages. Each article lists its languages, and you can filter by language anywhere in the archive.
