The Jaina Gazette, 1927
“beautiful image of Sri Santhinatha, the 16th Tirthankara, in Kayotsarga (standing posture) made of shining black stone. Height about 2% feet. The Sanskrit inscription in Kanarese characters at the base of the image records that King Salvadeva a great lover of Sahitya (Literature), had an image of Santi-Jina made according to the rules of the Silpa-sastras and errected it.”
