“The Acaranga-sutra, which mentions the names of Vajjabhumi and Subbhabhumi as two divisions of Ladha, was composed in the 4th century B.C., that is, about two hundred years after Mabhavira's death, when it is very probable, the word Vijaya- bhumi had been corrupted into Vajja-bhumi.”
